n + 1

The most recent number of existing blogs I've seen listed is 94 million. This number being Technorati's estimate back in August 2007, I'm probably the 100 millionth person to (belatedly) jump on board a ship that started sailing at least a decade ago.

As this is my first post, I imagine some kind of thematic explanation might be in line. But knowing full well that this blog will likely be in a quantum state for an extended period of time, I'll avoid pigeon-holing myself too much and stick with some generalities.

This blog will probably address topics such as photography, travel, social responsibility, literature, new media, culture 2.0, and many, many other vagaries. But more than anything, this blog will serve as an outlet in which I can practice writing, in styles including (but not limited to!) literary journalism, citizen journalism, fiction, and random prattle.

And the unifying idea behind all these topics and writing styles? Perhaps the exploration of the random and unexpected links between all types of miscellany. And the expression of awe, gratitude, and a high degree of estimation for those who live their lives in High Resolution.
